We have created a multi-faceted methodology that will:
• Produce consistent results with both acute and chronic injuries
• Rapidly eliminate pain
• Dramatically improve range of motion
• Permanently change postural stress patterns
• Create long-lasting change
Here is a synopsis of some of the various techniques and therapeutic procedures used in our practice that allow us to get to the root of the problem so “adjustments hold” and stay fixed.
Postural Release Technique
Typical chiropractic adjustments do not adequately address the postural stress patterns that underlie and perpetuate structural problems.
Our work addresses postural stress in several key ways. First, a thorough examination of structural and postural conditions is performed. Structural corrections are then made in the postural position in which the injury has occurred. Corrections can be administered while you are standing, sitting, lying, walking, squatting (or in virtually any position). Even athletic activities can be broken down into core movements for evaluation and correction.
Corrections are also performed in the mirror image of your current stressed condition. For instance, if a person presents with their head and shoulders rounded forward in a slumped position, the correction is made with the person’s head back, chest lifted and shoulders relaxed.
In this way, a holographic image of the correct postural position is imprinted in the brain that the body can maintain.
Corrections are made (for the most part) with the ArthroStim, a low-impact, high-speed adjusting tool that can apply the precise amount of force suitable to each patient and area of the body.
Within a handful of visits, we can make architectural and functional changes that can last for decades. It is really quite amazing how quickly pain diminishes and range of motion and posture visibly improve with these methods.
Vector Point Cranial Therapy
When a vertebra moves into a stressed position, a specific area of the cranium (skull) goes into tension. A painful nodule can be predictably located along one of the cranial joints, known as sutures.
There is a (relatively) simple explanation for this. Inside the cranium, protecting the brain is a tough connective tissue known as the Dura Mater (or dura for short). The dura extends from the top of your head to the tail bone, makes contact with every vertebra in your spine and encloses the brain and spinal chord.
When any vertebra of the spine becomes torqued, there is an accompanying tension produced in the dura. And when this tension occurs, other vertebra compensate by going into a counter-torque to try and relieve the dural tension. Over time, your muscles compensate to protect the body and this torque pattern becomes chronic and seemingly permanent.
Vector Point corrects mis-aligned vertebrae quite differently than traditional methods. Precise cranial corrections release the dural torque allowing the vertebra to return to their normal, unstressed positions effortlessly and without the risk of added pain or injury. The results are dramatic, rapid and long-lasting.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years. It is highly effective in the treatment of all musculoskeletal problems. We utilize a variety of Chinese and Japanese systems to analyze and treat structural imbalances and their underlying causes.
High-Powered “Hot” Laser
We utilize the revolutionary K-Laser, developed in Italy, extensively in our practice. It has become an indispensable adjunct to our structural procedures. The dual-wavelength beam penetrates very deeply into the tissue, rapidly decreasing inflammation and pain. It has the unique ability to actually stimulate the healing process and the repair of injured tissue.
The deep penetration makes the treatment amazingly effective for difficult, chronic conditions of the spine, hips, knees, shoulders and other joints. Most acute pain and injury can be dramatically improved with the K-Laser in just a few visits. Got to the Laser artical to learn more.
Percussion
The Vibracussor is a powerful percussion device that has its roots in early Osteopathy. Unlike the typical sideways motion of a standard vibrator, the vibracussor’s motion is primarily up and down. This creates a deep, yet extremely comfortable penetration that can be finely adjusted for vibratory speed depending on the condition.
We can utilize the Vibracussor on virtually any area of the body to:
• Release Trigger Points
• Relax spasms
• Unwind adhesions and scar tissue
• Unblock lymphatic impairment and congestion
Therapeutic Exercises
Home care is an integral part of your structural health care program. By creating a personalized exercise program for you, we can design a routine that is powerful and effective, yet gentle and safe to fully support the postural changes you need to make.
