Autonomic Response Testing
Autonomic Response Testing (ART) is a diagnostic system developed by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, Ph.D. It is a unique system utilizing Muscle Response Testing (MRT) to deeply explore the state of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS).
The ANS regulates the overall functioning of the entire body. It functions at a subconscious level to maintain a constant internal environment (homeostasis). To understand this, imagine millions of bites of information coming into our bodies via our sensory organs (sight, sound, taste, smell, touch) at enormous speeds. On a conscious level, it would be impossible to sort out the beneficial from the potentially hazardous. The ANS functions as a huge switchboard to receive, sort, and send information where needed – to regulate every system of the body.
For instance, if the presence of a virus, bacteria or parasite is perceived, the ANS will activate the immune system to mobilize its reserves to battle the invader in an aggressive manner.
The ability of the ANS can be compromised by many factors including:
- Toxins (metal, environmental chemicals, biological neurotoxins, etc.)
- Psycho-emotional conflicts
- Infections (viruses, bacteria, paracites, etc.)
- Scar tissue disturbance
- Dental issues (root canal filled teeth, galvanic currents, cavitations, etc.)
- Structural disturbances (spinal subluxations, TMJ dysfunction, etc.)
- Allergies
- Energy disturbances (acupuncture meridians, scars, etc.)
We utilize many different kinds of laboratory analysis in our practice. However, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to adequately measure many of the above compromising factors through traditional methodologies. Utilizing ART procedures, we can isolate these disturbing influences and quickly determine effective treatment.
