MicroStim Therapy

MicroStim is a revolutionary therapy that provides effective and long lasting treatment for a wide variety of painful injuries or conditions effecting the neck, back and jaw and joints such as knees, shoulders, elbows and wrists.

How it works:

MicroStim delivers low levels of electricity to injured, inflamed and painful tissues. The amounts of current used are so small that they are usually below your level of perception. In fact, you will be controlling the amount current being delivered.

MicroStim measures the body's electrical conductivity in the affected area to which it is applied.  When there is a chronic injury the conductivity is lower than in the surrounding healthy tissue.  Every cell in our body functions as an electrical battery and needs to maintain a proper conductive flow. Electricity follows the path of least resistance and will flow around the injured area. This slows the healing process in the affected area.

The MicroStim transmits a current, simulating your body's electrical flow, through the area of injury, allowing your body to heal itself more rapidly. The current opens a pathway through the injured tissue that allows your body to maintain an increased flow of energy in the area long after you've left our office.

In cases of acute injury, where the area is hot, red and inflamed, there is a blockage and energy has "backed up," somewhat like a dam in a river. The MicroStim will relieve the blockage and allow both blood and electrical energy to flow more freely supporting the healing process. Scar tissue has been found to interrupt the healthy flow of energy through the body. The MicroStim is similarly effective in reducing this interference and scar tissue mass.

In experiments measuring changes at the cellular level, it has been shown that the current applied by the MicroStim increases the cells intake of nutrients and discharge of waste. This makes the MicroStim effective in supporting the body in its natural cleansing and healing process. 

What your experience will be:

Pain is often experienced when there is low or high conductivity. Similarly, abnormal conductivity is found in areas of muscle spasm and stiffness. The most common experience is a deep relaxation of the muscles. Often people experience immediate relief from pain while being treated. Some people, with longer term pain, need more treatment time. A home unit is available for those with severe pain that require more consistent treatment. The relief you experience will last longer every time you are treated. The MicroStim has been especially effective in cases where nothing else has relieved pain.
